Offense Goodfellas is a team of good hitters, not great hitters, a focused McMahan aside. They tend to strikeout too often, while being streaky hitters. When hot, they can hit with anyone for short stretches. When not, they can look as bad as anyone for short stretches. If they can stay hot, or at least warm, more times than not, they can score an ample amount of runs. If the opposite occurs, they will have to rely on pitching to win games. Pitching Goodfellas has the three best starters in the CWL, hands down. Stafford, McDowell, and McMahan all have Cy Young ability and can dominate on any given weekend. Staying focused and feeding off one another will be key to the club's success in '08. Pitching is easily the club's biggest strength. Defense Where pitching is the team's biggest strength, defense is equally the team's biggest weakness. Aside from Stafford's big-play ability in the field, Goodfellas has a shaky defense, at best. Positioning and hustle will be vital to the team's defensive success. All that good pitching could be for nothing if the defense can't make the plays. The addition of Johnathan Cope, however, goes a long way in suring up a questionable D.
